Shoreline Survey

During the summer of 2003, a shoreline survey of the Town River was conducted as part of the Taunton River Wild & Scenic Feasibility Study. The twelve mile long river was divided into eight sections and teams of local volunteers travelled their respective sections to collect data about the river. The volunteers collected information about the following characteristics of the river:

Teams then met to share their experiences, discuss issues and determine a set of recommendations for action to protect and preserve the river. Their findings, recommendations and background of the project are included in a report written by Katherine M. Doherty, Shoreline Survey Coordinator.
